Wilhelmina Tomasdóttir

Wilhelmína Tómasdóttir is a successful lied musician. She performs actively with her lied partner Siiri Ylijoki. In 2018, they participated in the Helsinki Lied competition and won the first prize in under-25s category.

Turku-Icelandic soprano Wilhelmína Tómasdóttir is a multidisciplinary singer who is in her element on stage. She has been seen on opera stages, e.g. in the roles of Despina (Mozart: Così fan tutte) and Grandmother (Autio: Logicomix). In the fall 2021, she plays the role of Lilalo in Ahola’s opera Kuinka-Kum-Maa on kaikkialla. Tómasdóttir is currently studying for the third year in the Department of Singing Music at the Sibelius-Academy with Annika Ollinkari. She has completed her studies at master classes with e.g. Soile Isokoski, Anne Sofie von Otter, Ingrid Haking Raaby and Konrad Jarnot. Tómasdóttir's studies and artistic work have been significantly supported by the Pro Musica Foundation, the Selim Eskelin Foundation and the Sibelius-Academy Support Foundation. Tómasdóttir is a semi-finalist in Havets Röst singing competition in August 2021.
